I'm trying to picture me wrestling that skillet and flipping that cornbread. I have made cornbread patties, but it's been a long time.
Ms. Ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06263882972749791087noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6322931360530621321.post-12332573884287995392015-11-04T16:27:21.564-08:002015-11-04T16:27:21.564-08:00The only way in the world to cook cornbread is in ...The only way in the world to cook cornbread is in a skillet.
I bet it was super yummy.Farm Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00998621464797636686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6322931360530621321.post-83123566035036068172015-11-04T09:35:41.638-08:002015-11-04T09:35:41.638-08:00Oh, MY!!! She would pour the mixture into her big iron skillet and place over a low flame. When it looked like it was time to flip it. she would lift one side and slide a plate under it , pulling the skillet away as the plate took the cornbread and then put the skillet over the plate and flip the whole thing, taking the plate away after it flipped. We had years of her cornbread made that way. I always baked mine. LOL. My mother only knew the way of the hills in which she was raised. Never owned a cookbook Nellie. So you know everything she make from memory. I think your cornbread looks very tasty. I think my sister has mommy old skillet. I do not even own one...that's kind of sad.
