My mother would always have a cherry dessert for George Washington's birthday. A bakery she loved to go to would always add chocolate hatchets on top of their cakes and pies, in honor of that cherry tree. :) xoBarbara F.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05650730931602700042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6322931360530621321.post-63442526153013483772012-02-13T18:22:47.940-08:002012-02-13T18:22:47.940-08:00HA!! A former beau of mine (think at least 45 years ago) used to talk about this dessert, but he never did get the recipe from his mom so I could try my hand at it. It's just as well, since he transferred to the University of AL and found someone else. Never cost me any tears, and I've still never made this. My Man of the House does not generally care for dishes with cream cheese (yes, he's a bit strange!), but I have had this made by other folks and think it is really good! I'm happy that your MOTH was pleased with it! :-)Glendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17030804555004881453noreply@blogger.com
