Just "show up!" That's what we're asked to do! Show up for a child in need of a mentor.
The school year is winding down in our local county. That calls for a special time of celebration for the students who have been part of the Kids Hope program at the nearby elementary school. This is my second year to be a mentor.
It was a beautiful day as we gathered at the gazebo on the school grounds!
Three kinds of pizza - cheese, pepperoni, and veggie!
A huge chocolate chip cookie!
Sundae toppings available for your choice of ice cream!
How do you make a difference in a child's life?
Sister, I know that you have made a real difference in the life of the young man you've mentored, although he might not realize or admit it for many more years! As for me, I try to encourage those children who are in my life by simply acknowledging and praising their accomplishments, and I hope they will be encouraged to do their best in whatever they attempt. I'll have to check to see whether this program is available in our area. Thank you for all you've done for your little fellow! Love you!ReplyDelete
It's so kind of you to be a mentor. When people with children see me, they run!ReplyDelete
I have not heard of this program but it sounds like a great program.ReplyDelete
Nellie, I have never heard of this program. I am sure you would be a great mentor. Sounds like a fun day. Blessings, xoxo, SusieReplyDelete
