As I read through blogs, it is apparent that some of you are ready to begin celebrating the arrival of fall.:-) The temperatures around here this summer have been really hot, and I will admit that it will be nice to see some cooler weather.
Our most recent celebration, however, was Little Munchkin's sixth birthday! Her party was delayed until the week-end, and it was certainly a joyous occasion!

There were gifts from here.... |
|
|
When our daughters were growing up, we relied on Fisher-Price and their Best Friend series for gifts.
|
There were books.... |
|
|
Not only were there books for Little Munchkin, her big brother had one as well.
|
And, of course, the cake! |

Little Munchkin wanted a "Pony Party," hence the horses on top of the cake. Munchomom baked this wonderful chocolate cake which was greatly enjoyed by all!:-) I believe Little Munchkin may be starting her collection of horses.:-)
Speaking of collections, how many do YOU have? Notice I didn't ask IF you had any.:-) Collections will be the subject of the next post.
Thank you for reading. I really enjoy your comments.
Happy 6th birthday to little Munchkin. The cake looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteI collected angels for many years. After I sold my home and started downsizing I sold all but a few favorites at the sales I had.
I have quite a few willow tree figurines that were given to me by family and friends. I don't have them all unpacked because I don't have room for them. I couldn't bear to get rid of gifts from family and friends.
I'm hoping to convince Josie to have a cowgirl themed birthday next year. Your granddaughter's cake is just darling.
ReplyDeleteMunchomom said that she used your recipe from the wedding in March, so I'm quite sure that cake was most scrumptious! Little Munchkin is a gal after my own heart, with her love for chocolate! The pony collection will definitely grow, and we may have another Country Girl on our hands! :-) I'm not sure whether you are aware that I collect bells of all kinds or not. I truly don't have room for my collection, but I always love the different tones that each of them have. It seems, as with snowflakes, no two are alike. I'll look forward to your next installment, as always! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe birthday cake looks great and must have tasted delicious.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you all had a great time.
Happy belated birthday wishes to your grand-daughter.
Oh, Birthday Parties for the little ones! Fun!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a super cake!!!
I am getting in the Autumn mood.
But I don't collect anything. Other than all of Gladys Taber's books, other than the ones on animals. Did that over years, and remember the fun we had, searching for them on trips to Cape Cod, etc.
But other than that, I do not COLLECT. :-) Nor do I go "thrifting." Don't want more *stuff.* :-)
"Auntie"
Happy Birthday to your little Munchkin! What a great cake. Our kids bit their teeth on Fisher Price, too. Wonderful things! Blessings- xo Diana
