The new season....

....for the Women's Chorus has begun.  The director has once again come  up with some great selections for us to learn.

These will be fun to sing.

My favorite, though, is this one -

Road conditions and illness of several members have kept us from rehearsals the past two weeks.
Hopefully, we will be able to be back on schedule this week.

Unfortunately, we will be proceeding this season without one of our long-time members.  Her passing last week has brought us sadness, and we will honor her memory by singing at her memorial service, as she requested.

The sun is shining here today, and we have those "blue skies!"   No snow in the forecast for the coming week!

  2. I know how much you enjoy the Women's Chorus. Great group of songs!!!!!! NEAT...

Sorry for the loss of your friend... BUT--like you, I am happy to see sunshine and no more snow for awhile...It's been really really rough up here. Some are still without power even after a week...Sad.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  5. Sorry for all the obstacles in the way of your Choir rehearsals. Hopefully the weather will improve and things will return to normal.

I know you'll miss your choir friend but what an honor to be singing at he memorial service. What a nice tribute to her.

So sorry you couldn't attend her funeral because of weather conditions. I'm sure she would want everyone safe rather than risking being on icy roads.

    Have fun with the choir.

I used to be a cantor for many years at our church and led the congregation into singing the responses until I had a tumor removed from my thyroid. I lost my singing voice for two years and it took a very long time to come back. I sing from my seat at church now because of working at the farm. I can't make it on time sometimes because of my work. I used to love singing at weddings and funerals and often was asked to sing solo.

    Hugs,
    JB

  6. So sorry to hear about your friend, Nellie...

When I saw that Moon River music I began singing it in my head. LOVE that song, Andy William or Perry Como? I forget:)

Good weather is on the horizon, Nellie...I can feel it in my bones, lol...

    Thanks for sharing, Nellie...

  7. Those selections look great, and I'm sure you ladies will enjoy learning them and performing for others when the time comes! It's always difficult to lose a person whom you have come to love and appreciate, but that is one of those areas of life that help us to grow stronger. Love you, Sister!
