Berries for breakfast....

Strawberries saved from the bunnies!!  A few raspberries saved from the Japanese beetles! Yikes!  The first blueberries saved from the birds!!  The first blackberries!!  We are happy to share with the wildlife, but are ready to have our share, too!😊😊

  1. We didn't have many berries this year either. I am glad you were able to save some. They look pretty.

  2. Oh, how luscious those berries look, Sister! I'm so happy that the critters didn't get all of them! Those blackberries take me back to the years when we'd spend hours fighting the chiggers and spiders to pick some for Daddy or our grandmother to make a cobbler or some jelly/jam. I hated the heat and the battles, but sure did enjoy the eating!! LOL Hope you're having a good day so far and that it will continue to be good. Love you!

  4. Pretty berries, Nellie. You have blackberries much earlier than us. I love them! My Mama made the best blackberry roll that we all devoured as soon as it came out of the oven. Enjoy your weekend. xo ♥

  5. June is time for strawberries really, that is what we had tonight. Then at the end of July, around St-Anne's Day, it is the time for blueberries, then in August time for raspberries. That is how I remember it anyway, although raspberries might come sooner and before blueberries. Will need to check.

  7. We had a garden when we lived in Western Maryland. My daughter very politely asked the bunnies to let us have some of the strawberries, and they allowed it.

    Love,
    Janie
