Not just veggies....

First, I will admit that most of our efforts are devoted to the vegetable garden.  However,  we do have some plants that bless us with just their beautiful blooms.

Hydrangea!
This hydrangea was very small when we set it out in this location almost eight years ago.  Its growth has been phenomenal, indicating this is probably where it is happiest.  We brought it from our former residence, where it had not been flourishing.  It is full of blooms at this point.

Mother's Day gift!

This Mother's Day gift of a potted geranium also has white snapdragons and a rose-colored petunia, not visible in this picture.  The geraniums look especially cheery now!

We also have begonias to set out along the sidewalk.  Perhaps that will be a project for Monday!:-)  That will definitely be something to share.:-)

I really appreciate those of you who are following along.  I enjoy reading your comments.

  3. Nellie, I have a black thumb when it comes to hydrangeas....and I love them so much. The April frost got to them a bit. they are growing but so slowly here.Oh course it's been dry here for some time...we do try to water a bit each day. Smiles to you, Susie

  4. Those hydrangeas are gorgeous. We can only grow the white/green ones here. Even when we amend the soil it soon goes back to its old state.

Your geraniums are lovely, too. xo Diana

  9. My flower garden suffered this year but my gardenias are blooming well as I write--- and this Spring the flowers were excellent. I have a huge tomato plant just now and a red bell pepper that I MAY have shocked too much as it's pot was split and I tried to transplant it into another sturdier one. It look peaked today.

I do know Aubreys. There is one on Middlebrook Pike just about 3 miles from the subdivisin my son lives in. Good food. We would up going to the Cracker Barrel at my birthday boy's behest.

  14. Beautiful hydrangea, I so wish I had some in my yard. I can remember how my paternal grandmother had a whole row of them down the side of her house and they were just beautiful.

  15. Hi Nellie,

Thanks for stopping by and FINALLY leaving a comment! Yes, Susan and I (and my hubby and Joe) have been good friends since the late 70s. We share lots of the same passions, including gardens, cooking, travel, antiques, and much more.
