A busy week-end....

I hope your Monday is off to a good start.  Did you have a good week-end?

It was a busy week-end here.  It was time for a UMW Conference event - Sisters In Service - which meant it was time to load the Reading Program books (ordered, and arrived here at the house last week) and head to the retreat.

Covering two long tables.

The bowl that my sister gave me for Christmas is on the display, but one of the category signs covers most of it.:-(

The retreat was an overnight event, so it was midday Sunday before I returned home.  I was hoping to be home in time to go to a Capital Campaign event at church, and I am glad that was possible.  Our church is involved in many outstanding ministries, and it is always good to be able to attend a program where that is celebrated.

City Girl had come through the area on Friday heading to a destination further northeast.  She worked her way back this direction, and we were happy to have her overnight on Sunday.  Due to weather conditions, we may also have her tonight, which would please us greatly!

Speaking of weather, after a high temperature in the upper-sixties on Sunday, today's temperature is expected to fall at least 35 degrees from that level during the day, with icy roads a real possibility as the precipitation changes from rain to freezing rain to sleet and even maybe some snow!  This storm is named Titan by the Weather Channel, and it has appeared to be an enormous storm as it has crossed the country!  I hope you who are in the path of the storm are taking this hit as well as you are able.  It appears that winter isn't through with us yet.

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  3. I think I see that bowl, peeking out from under that sign! I hope it served a useful purpose---perhaps holding some $$$ for books that others purchased! :-) City Girl is very wise to wait for the ice to melt in her town. Some of my FB friends have posted pictures, and it all looks very pretty, but it is hazardous driving!!

Hope your day is going well at this point. It seems that we dodged the ice bullet this time here, but other areas are not so fortunate.

  11. Speaking of weather... it is 1am, Tuesday morning and it's raining and cold as a well diggers butt! Yuk! Since Michael got out of the hospital on Monday, I have no plans to get out of the house.
