Another view....

For a change of pace, I am showing you the view out of our back door this morning.  The previous snow events have shown things out our front door.

We had fresh snow overnight.  The weather people are saying it is officially 4 1/2 inches.  Not much warmth or sunshine today to help with melting, and cold temperatures will be with us overnight.

In the second picture, you may be able to identify the broom corn on the lower left area.  The birds have really been enjoying this during these winter months.  There are a couple of other plants around the yard.

This seems like a good day to continue that reading I've been doing!  Enjoy your Thursday, wherever you are.

Sara McKeever, I will be happy to send you Daughters of England.  Please contact me with your mailing information, and I will get that book in the mail to you!

  2. What a lovely snowy scene. Our weather here in AZ has turned just a bit cooler but of course, that doesn't include snow. You certainly have "well-loved" that cook book! Enjoy what's left of the week!

  5. It's just like a black and white photo. The snow can really block out colors. It won't take long to melt that once the temperature gets up a bit and the sun shines.

    1. Yes, we are nice and warm inside the house. Of course, the heat pump is working well at keeping us that way.:-)

    1. I'd say there are many in the northeastern US who would love to send you the snow they have! Boston has received over 100 inches this winter!

  10. I'm behind on blog reading. Looks like you are getting to experience all sorts of very cold winter weather too. We drove to our aframe cottage last night and the pipes from our well into the house were frozen. No water! With our extreme negative temps, it’s not surprising, but very disappointing. Good thing we only live 40 minutes away. I’m officially ready to help Mother Nature find spring!

  11. The photos I have seen from around these parts, including Cades Cove and other parts of the Great Smoky Mountains, have been outstanding in their clarity and serenity! Of course, it's not quite so serene when one is forced to get out and drive in it, but it is most lovely to look at when we have the freedom to do that! Today is sunny and a bit warmer, so most of our snow has now left us. There is some interesting information in the weather predictions, though, so we might see some more of that white stuff! Love you, Sister!
