The early bird....

....Well, we all know what is said about the "early bird."  In this case, however, it isn't a worm that is the prize.  It's a book!

We've been "iced in" here for the better part of a week, so what's a person to do?  I've been trying to clear some shelves a bit, and I have the following books that I am offering to three of you!  The first one who leaves a comment preferring one of the books will be the one who will receive it!  I'd really like to send a book to three of you, so - if you comment, only choose ONE of the books.

When you comment, I will reply.  Then you will be able to send me your mailing address confidentially.

I have just noticed that my post for Sunday doesn't show that it was published.  I pre-scheduled it, so there may have been a problem.

Also, for some ridiculous reason, I am not receiving notice when some of you leave comments on the blog.  I do always like to respond to your comments, so if you aren't receiving a response from me, it is because I am not receiving the usual notice of your comments.

It is still icy in spots around the area here, and local schools are not in session for the fifth day due to weather conditions.

I hope you are safe and warm where you are!

  1. No books for me, but I'm glad you are okay. I was worried when I didn't get a Sunday post! Hope you are dealing with the nasty weather the best you can. Stay safe... and warm!

  2. I really don't need a book, either, but I am one of those who didn't get your Sunday post. I will normally post something by no later than 3:00 p.m., so if you haven't heard from me by that time, you may want to send an email to make sure I've seen your post, or send out an APB to the police department! It's another gloomy day here, and there were a few signs of sleet earlier, but now it's just COLD, and I'm in for the day! Love you, Sister--take care of yourself!! :-)

  3. Well- I have NOT read Carousel by Belva Plain. I have read the other two. I would be happy to pay postage on it, Nellie.
I have heard other complaints about people not getting their comments- another blogger glitch I would suppose! UGH xo Diana

  4. Well hmmm....wonder if I'm getting all of my comments...how do you know if you aren't getting them. You are so sweet to pass along some books. I LOVE to read and would really enjoy a book. And I will pass it on to my Mom when I'm finished, as she loves to read too. I just went to the library and stocked up on books and dvd's since my Shug is starting a different shift at work, I THINK I will have more downtime. Not sure yet. It's going to take some getting used to. I'll not be picky about the book because I haven't read any of them. I just don't want a scary one! I'm a scaredy cat! Stay safe. We have had some bad weather too.

  6. Stitches in Time sounds nice. What a generous give away. Shipping to Canada is getting very expensive so I will not expect you to send me a book.
Have fun de-cluttering your shelves. I de-clutter and bring some more in. It's a disease.
    Stay warm and cosy.
    Hugs,
    JB

  7. That is sweet of you to offer books, Nellie. It's very, very cold here, too. This winter has been quite a doozy. Susan
