An "oldie...."

I just don't find myself able to part with cookbooks, particularly this one from years ago.

It is one of the ones I've chosen for my own "cookbook challenge," and it was put to use in preparing for the holiday.

For this occasion, I added sliced beef frankfurters to the mix in order to have appeal to the "younger set."

I suppose it could be renamed "Beanie Weenies.":-)  Whatever it is named, it was perfect for our holiday feasting.

  1. Nellie, Beanie- weenies...that would never catch on.LOL> You just cracked me up making those. When we were kids, we longed for something like that. ...instead of mom's beans and cornbread. LOL. I have to say, I liked that quick recipe. Blessings for a great weekend, xoxo, Susie

  2. Oh, Sister! You have opened up another great box of memories with this one! I remember more than one meal that you prepared when I visited you in VA, then again after you moved to TN, and everything you made was delicious, even then! I can never seem to part with a cookbook, as they all have special memories for me. Thanks for the recipe! :-)

  7. Me, either. I don't use my cookbooks very often, but they may be the last books to go. They have such memories. Hope you're having a great weekend.

  8. I am also trying to use old recipe books. Right now I've pulled out an old issue of Everyday Food magazine from a past June. It's sink or swim! I don't want to keep these things hanging around if they're not being used! :)
