Time on Tuesday....

I'm continuing to read through the book I quoted yesterday, The World According to Mister Rogers, written by Fred Rogers.

Today's quote:  "We want to raise our children so that they can take a sense of pleasure in both their own heritage and the diversity of others."

I think this is vital for the world in which we live.

  1. Nellie, this could also help with bullying. Being different is ok. Wishing all there a happy Thanksgiving. Blessings.xopxo, Susie

  2. This brings to my mind the song we learned as children, and it's even more important for us as adults: "Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world; Red and yellow, black and white, all are precious in His sight; Jesus loves the little children of the world!" If we can just remember that we're not any better than Jesus, then surely we can love those who are different from us! Love you, Sister!

  3. Teach your children well. Too much of the behavior we see these days on the part of those who loom large in the public eye is frightening to children or teaches them cruel ways to act. The Southern Poverty Law Center has reported that fear levels among children are very high, especially children who are from minority backgrounds. They are afraid of being deported, even if they are citizens of the United States.

    Love,
    Janie

  8. I hope this finds you and yours doing well. May we display your header on our new site directory? As it is now, the site title (linked back to its home page) is listed, and we think displaying the header will attract more attention. In any event, we hope you will come by and see what is going on at SiteHoundSniffs.com.

  9. Hi dear Nellie, Thanks for your comment on my new blog post. After a long absence, I returned to blogging.

Mr Rogers was such a classic gentleman and everyone just loved him. He had much to teach about respect for everyone no matter what color the skin.

Winter has arrived here in our parts but the temperatures are quite mild. I'm inside most of the time when i'm not in the barn so I have more free time since the ground is covered with snow.

I hope that you are well.
    Hugs,
    Julia
