A mini-tutorial....

Hello, everyone!  Just as with so many of you, this has been a very busy time here.

If you are trying to avoid anything with any kind of corn syrup in it, and you still want to have the taste of pecan pie, this may be an option for you.

This recipe for Tea Time Tassies was in a recipe book compiled by the aunt of a neighbor.  It is probably very evident that the recipe card has received much use.  At some point, I began to see the wisdom in having plastic sleeves for my recipes.:-)  The mini-muffin pans are necessary for this recipe.  The little wooden tool is to help with pushing the cream cheese pastry into the cups.
This illustrates the steps in the process of adding chopped pecans and filling to the pastry-lined cups.
All baked and ready to remove from the pan.  They are really easy to serve, as you are able to see from this picture....

That was our dessert for Sunday Lunch yesterday!

Turkey Pot Pie!  I look forward to having turkey left over to make some favorites.

Today is the last day of November....Cyber Monday, it’s called.  That’s a day that didn’t exist when I was a child.  Are you doing much of your shopping online?

I continue to listen to the experts and believe science!  Taking proper precautions is one way to do our part to keep this pandemic under control!  Take care of yourself!  Stay safe and well!

  1. That turkey pot pie looks delicious and so does the mini pecan tarts. I have found a corn syrup that is formulated without high-fructose Corn Syrup. It's called CROWN Golden Corn Syrup. I used it last week to make caramel popcorn treat for my husband.

  3. I do a lot of my shopping online, I live 40 miles from a shopping mall so it’s much easier!
    The tassies look very tasty.

  4. Oh, Sister! If I only had a nickel for every one of those Pecan Tassies I made when you had your catering business, I'd be on Easy Street now! They truly are bite-sized bits of delight! Your turkey pot pie also looks wonderful, and I surely wish you could email me a serving of it! I'm continuing to be careful, but there are times when I simply must be out and about. My mask stays on my face, and my wipes stay nearby to wipe down shopping carts, etc. I have some cheap plastic disposable gloves that I wear as I go through the store. Not as safe as staying home, but these are times when I simply must get out and do some things for myself. Take care of yourself and The Husband. Love y'all!

  5. Nellie, the Tassies look delicious! So does the turkey pie. I sure miss leftovers. They always taste so good. I used to make a cream cheese pastry for my mini muffin pans and the ends of my wooden rolling pin are the perfect pushing down tool! I do now all of my shopping online, have done a lot for years pre pandemic, but now it's all online.

  7. Oh Nellie, I LOVE tassies. They are such delightful little yummies. And your turkey pot pie looks good, too. Thanks for all your visits and comments to Writing Straight from the Heart. Hope you have a delightful week.

  8. I love turkey. Your pot pie convinced me to roast a turkey for Christmas. Thanksgiving is not enough. My sisters and I have agreed to make donations to shelters instead of sending each other Christmas gifts. All other gifts will be purchased online and sent directly to recipients. No standing in line in the post office for me. I will happily get the shots for the vaccine when my turn arrives.

    Love,
    Janie
