I recently read these words, attributed to G. K. Chesterton.
"I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought,
and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder."
Sending wishes to you for a blessed Sunday!
what a great quote! I have been so blessed with my Gratitude series this year! Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteNellie , If only everyone could be thankful...even in the smallest degree..for truly there is something to always be thankful for. When my arthritic ankles are just killing me, I ask God to touch them and help me make it through...then I say "at least I can still walk.":):)xo, Susie
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful thought. It is a wonderful sentiment- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI love it Nellie! Such a wonderful quote!
ReplyDeleteYes, an attitude of gratitude will get us through many rough spots in life. "I grumbled because I had no shoes till I met a man who had no feet" comes to my mind. We have so many blessings that we take for granted, and we just need to take time to stop and look at them sometimes! Thank you for this gentle reminder today, Nellie! :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Sunday!
ReplyDeleteSunday is always a special day for us. So nice to meet you!

ReplyDeleteHi Nellie....Hope your Sunday was terrific. I agree that thanks are the highest form of thought. I think an attitude of gratitude helps get through this life. You and your sister definitely have it.
ReplyDeleteNellie, thanks so much for all your visits and Glenda's, too! You two are sweeties. Love your comments, too. Susan
We had our 'thanks giving' early & I am so grateful. Happiness is certainly doubled by wonder.
ReplyDeleteI love G.K. Chesterton. I like this quote too.
