It was a busy week-end for me. Once again I journeyed to Lake Junluska for a United Methodist Women event. It was time for our Conference Annual Meeting/Training, and that means I was on duty as Secretary of Program Resources.
But - before I registered there, I took a short trip to Waynesville. I really enjoy this little town, and even saw this gentleman.
Yes, it's true! |
I did take a quick stop here.
Do you have one of these near you? |
I have featured a sunrise picture on the blog from another trip to Lake Junaluska. This time, however, this is what greeting us in the mornings.
Just a bit of fog. |
In addition to performing the duties of the office I hold, it was also an inspirational week-end.
Now, I am home with this to unpack.
Unsold books have to be returned. |
That's it for this time. Off to get this day underway.
Thank you for reading. I really appreciate your comments.
Happy Monday, Nellie!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had an interesting weekend. I'm not quite sure about how I feel about "Him" though. I'm trying to adjust to the arrival of Fall. Santa is not on my mind at all! I'm sure he's feeling the same way that's probably why he didn't give you the time of day. I'm also sure it has nothing to do with you being naughty:)
Hope your work load goes quick so you can enjoy this glorious day!
Thanks for sharing, Nellie...
i've never heard of mast generals. but i wish i had one nearby!
ReplyDeleteA town where it's Christmas everyday?? I'M THERE!!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the autumn-ish temperatures here this weekend.
Sounds like a busy weekend with some fun shopping thrown in too. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a weekend you had! Hope you have fun today-haha! I am just checking in before getting on the road. Hope you have a great day-xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYou will have a busy couple of days, for sure, taking care of all those unsold books. I hope you'll take some time to breathe along the way! Oh, one of my Facebook friends is a gentleman who calls himself "Smoky Mtn Santa." His name is actually Tim, and he lives in Shagbark with his wife Nancy. When "the season" comes along, he travels to various places to have pictures made with visiting children. Of course, you are aware that Pigeon Forge has a couple of Christmas places that are open all year, too, and the aroma in those places is always so wonderful! Have a great day! :-)
ReplyDeleteSecretary of Program Resources is a big job... Lugging around all of those books has to be hard at times.... But--it is so important for all of us to keep up with the new books available to us out there. SO---you obviously are doing a great job....Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI love Junaluska --but have never been to Waynesville. We always go to Maggie Valley.
Hugs,
Betsy
I'm not quite ready for Christmas shopping and I usually wait till the bitter end, to do my shopping. lol. The commercialism gets to me. Christmas is supposed to be a special time.
ReplyDeleteThinking like I do, I'm sure that the Santa on the street would have given me the stink eye. lol...
We are having a rainy day again. The sun came out yesterday though and I got lots of yard work done at my son's place.
Hugs,
JB
Nellie, You have a couple month to start being good.:):) I don't see you as naughty. You did have a pretty full weekend. Blessings for a great new week. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteWaynesville?!? Dang, wish I was there! You weren't kidding when you said you in one of my favorite areas! Lake Junaluska, Waynesville... just a hop, skip and a jump from my place I never get to see.
ReplyDeleteAnother nice weekend for you! : )
ReplyDeleteYesterday morning it was 40 degrees but this morning it was back up to 55, but yes it does have the feel of fall in the air.
Hi Nellie , I enjoy and get a kick out of the things you do , no you have not been naughty , Santa was just grumpy because Mrs; Santa scolded him for not taking out the trash and the temp. is about 75 down here .Thanks for sharing :).
ReplyDeleteOK I do hope Santa was in a disguise because i am not ready for him yet.:) Oh it looks like a nice trip. Happy Monday. B
