Happy Monday to everyone! How was your week-end? Was Thanksgiving over for you with just one day, or did it extend through Friday and Saturday, too?
We had a very nice Thanksgiving time. City Girl came to town on Wednesday, as did Munchomom, Machoman, and the two Munchkins. We chose to have our turkey for Wednesday dinner. On Thanksgiving Day, we all journeyed to visit with the Country Couple. Country Man was working, so we went by to see him at work. Then, we all went to the Country Couple's home where we enjoyed a Thanksgiving Day dinner together.
During the afternoon, we walked around where Country Man works.

Do you see those icicles? It was cold! |

The traffic through Cades Cove was rather heavy, which was a surprise to me! It had been several years since we have driven through. There were many sightings of deer and wild turkeys, but we saw no bears.
We had a marvelous time with our company! Everyone returned to their homes on Saturday, and Country Man left on the mission trip to Honduras. Plus - our Women's Chorus kicked off our performance season by appearing on Saturday afternoon at a local event! It was a busy holiday!
Remember! On Thursday, December 5, I will draw names for the giveaway.

Nellie, I like where your man works. Those places are so interesting. My grandson , during a summer job worked at a grist mill mowing the grounds. :) We had a wonderful Holiday. Lots of love and food. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place to work. I would like that very much. I liked seeing all of the buildings. I guess I missed your giveaway post. I would love to be entered in your giveaway. I turned my Susan Branch calendar yesterday and though, I am going to have to be looking for a new one. :)
ReplyDeleteBack to normal today though. You are so busy through December. Have a wonderful Monday
The photos are wonderful Nellie. All beautiful scenes!
ReplyDeletePrayers for all on their way to Honduras.
Hi Nellie , I see you had a lovely and busy Thanksgiving , Thanks for sharing :0
ReplyDeleteYour Thanksgiving sounds lovely, and a trip to the country is always a welcomed one.
ReplyDeleteIt looks extremely cold, compared to our 54 degrees, but thenyou are further east and in the mountain area :)
Love the pictures Nellie, they remind me of my trips to Cades Cove.
Hugs,
~Jo
The Country Couple are very well-suited to each other, with their mutual love of all things outdoors and quaint! I'm sure that was a lovely time on Thursday, even with the COLD temperatures! We were far south of here, and it was still cold! These family gatherings are always enjoyable, but it seems that they end much too soon. Have a lovely afternoon, Sister! :-)
ReplyDeleteI went to Cades Cove when I was younger and it was so memorable. I did see a bear!!
ReplyDeleteThe snow looks so nice on everything... but I'm glad I don't have to deal with it!
ReplyDeleteI already have a calendar so you don't need to enter me to win, though I do like her work.
ReplyDeleteJust want to tell you I like that first photo, and wow, the building is still used to grind corn. Neat.
Great pics. Seems like a fun place to visit. But it did look cold, Brrrr. We haven't had any big icicles yet.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun you had over Thanksgiving! It does look especially chilly. Our Thanksgiving snow all melted but the girls certainly enjoyed it while we had it. I've heard that a cold front is heading our way again. It certainly puts us in the Christmas mood!
ReplyDeleteYour Thanksgiving had a lot of activity and I bet that everyone was very hungry after visiting all those buildings. Great photos and by gosh, those icicles were big. Brrrrr.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
JB
Love the mill picture!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a nice Thanksgiving. : )
Hi Nellie - new follower coming over from Happyone's blog. I live in warm and sunny Arizona so I am loving your snow pictures. Sounds like you had a great Thanksgiving with your family. I love the quote by Bishop Tutu in your last post. I am going to put that on the board in my classroom for my "thought for the week" next week. I teach high school and always like to have good, uplifting thoughts on the board. I would love to be entered in your calendar give-away if possible. Thanks and I will look forward to more of your posts.
