Munchomom and family came on Friday afternoon and the Country Couple came later. It, as always, was great to have them here, although the visit was not at all long enough.
As Carnival Season is now underway in New Orleans, I decided to plan Friday night's dinner around a Mardi Gras theme.

So, the Country Couple had to leave early on Saturday morning for work responsibilities. That meant breakfast by 7:30! Munchomom and family were able to stay through lunch on Saturday before they returned home.
This is only about part of the week-end here. There is more to follow in the coming days.
I hope you had a good week-end and are having a good Monday.
Thank you for reading. I really appreciate your comments.
A dozen eggs and a pound of bacon? I could eat that all by myself in one sitting :)
ReplyDeleteNellie, That's a big breakfast...but not so big for so many. The cake thing was very interesting. :) Glad you had some family fun , this weekend. xoxo,Susie

Time with our children and grands is always too short! I'm happy they were there, even though they left too soon, and I'm sure they enjoyed every bite of the food you prepared for them. Hopefully, there will be recipes to share soon.... :-) I'm not very subtle, am I? HA!!! Hope you're enjoying this beautiful day! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat King Cake looks very festive with all of the beautiful colored sugar on the icing.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it wonderful to have family visit?
The Shrimp Creole looks tasty.
ReplyDeleteI've never had King's cake before but I've heard about it. We have pancakes on Shrove Tuesday.
Hugs,

The quantity sounded like a lot until you said 8 people. That's not a lot at all, although I'm glad it wasn't me doing the bacon... I'd make a huge, greasy mess.
