A year of celebrations....Cookbook Wednesday!

There are seasons of celebrating all through the year, and today's featured cookbook covers all of them!

It is eye-catching from the beginning!

From 1999 by Jane Breskin Zalben, there is quite a complete Table of Contents!

During this time of year, my thoughts go to St. Patrick's Day, and Ms. Zalben definitely covers that with some great suggestions.

Who can go wrong with Irish Soda Bread, Potato Soup, and Corned Beef and Cabbage?  I say - "Bring it on!":-)

My favorite part of the book, however, is this page from the front -

It is good to be reminded about the source of all our gifts.

Linking today with Months of Edible Celebrations.

  4. What a beautiful cookbook for all the special holidays. I hope your St Patrick meal reflects some of the menu suggested in the book. I love Corned Beef and Cabbage but I usually add onions and carrots.
I add my cabbage before the other vegetable as I like it well cooked.

My husband and I had a meal of corned beef and cabbage at a well know pub and the cabbage was so tough and there was so much of it that we didn't enjoyed our meal very much.

It's just glorious outside and the snow is melting.

    Hugs,
    JB

I have a recipe for Iris Soda Bread that I haven't made in years. I think I just might bake one next week. : )
