The weekend....

Another weekend passed quickly for us here!  How about you?  Did the weekend seem to crawl along or zoom along at top speed?

The “spook parade” only gave us around ten spooks.  We were ready with individual bags with candy.

This was one way to use the Turquoise Table.  We’ve not been able to gather neighbors here at all this year due to the pandemic.

We were eager to see that full Blue Moon on Halloween night.
It did not disappoint, once it cleared the trees, and we were able to see it clearly.

Sunday was the first day of a new month....November!  Dessert, however, was a nod to Halloween weekend.
Spiderweb Crunch has been a favorite for a number of years!  With ingredients such as milk chocolate chips and peanut butter, how can one go wrong?

What fun it was to have this for the final course following this meal!
Gold Medal chicken breast, candied sweet potatoes, green peas, and these rolls....
                                                         Pumpkin Rolls!

Munchkin #1 is 17 years old today!  I remember being in that hospital waiting room with family for most of the night as he chose to arrive at 2:30 a.m.!  He is now in the 11th grade and running cross country!  No trip to help him celebrate, unfortunately.  When we are able to safely travel again, we’ll have a huge celebration.

Such serious times are with us!  It is important that you remember to be safe....those three w’s....wear a mask, watch your distance, wash your hands!

Tomorrow is Election Day.  Have you voted?  Be sure to go to the polls to vote, if you haven’t already voted by absentee or taken advantage of early voting.

Stay well!

  1. I like how you treated your trick or treaters, Nellie. Oh, pumpkin rolls and chicken with sweet potatoes sounds great!
I'm anxiously awaiting the results of the election this year--Especially! We voted absentee back in September. Praying for a result that will heal our land.....

  2. Hi Nellie
Thanks for your visit to my blog. Your autumn treats look delicious. The covid rates are going up and up in Colorado so we are being very careful about taking precautions. We voted early as we have "vote by mail or drop off" in Colorado. We also left treats in bags outside for halloween--it worked out well. Hope you enjoy the rest of the beautiful fall weather.

  3. Nellie, even if not exactly to purpose, it's so lovely to see the Turquoise Table again. Such a beautiful colour. Happy you got to see the Blue Hallowe'en moon, which was once again scuppered by cloud cover here in Wales. I would be more than happy to help you eat that Spiderweb Crunch!

  4. Well, Sister, you've done it again - got my taste buds craving chocolate/peanut butter anything! Your entire meal looks mighty tasty to me, and it's a good thing I'll be heading to my son's home soon for a dinner of pulled pork and baked potatoes. Please let Munchkin #1 know I've been thinking about him today. Sure wish his card weren't packed away on that moving truck! Love you!

We don't get any kids here, too remote.

  9. That Spiderweb Crunch got my attention! It sounds perfect to me, Nellie! Yes, same here, the governor has shut down the restaurants in our area, everything at a stand still and I feel sorry for all the businesses here having to close. Voted early this morning and precinct packed. Hope Munchkin #1 had a great day. We only have one grandchild, he's awesome and 9 years old, way out in Scottsdale, AZ. Thank goodness for Face time and all!!! Hopefully, this pandemic will end soon and we can see hime! Your meal looks delicious, I'd definitely love dinner at your house!!! Take care
