I shared some pictures with you a few weeks ago showing a new fire station that is being built in the community. It isn't the easiest to get a picture that shows the progress. Sometimes it isn't possible to stop in traffic for taking pictures.

I'm not sure if it is apparent, but progress IS being made.
Further along the road we frequently use, another project is underway.

Bridge improvement. |

Work is underway to improve a bridge over a creek on a busy road.

A new road under construction on the same route. |

Returning by the bridge construction. |

In the return picture, you are able to see the elevation the road takes as it curves around and down on its path, in place since the beginning of time, I'm sure.:-)
There are other projects that are underway in our area. Hopefully I will be able to be in a position to show you the new Costco that is under construction, scheduled to open November 1. It isn't easy to stop in traffic to take a picture.:-)
Thank you for reading. I really appreciate your comments.
Your end of town is growing by leaps and bounds, and you have already seen a lot of improvements since you've lived there. No, it isn't easy to take a picture while driving, and sometimes the nearest spot to pull off does not provide the best view, but perhaps that Costco parking lot can give you a better opportunity soon. I tried to capture an amazing sunset a couple of weeks ago, but could not stop in the middle of the road where the best view was, and the only place nearby where I could get off the road was in the little cluster of businesses along our busy highway. I took a couple of pictures, and got a good view of a local Long John Silver's and Sonic, with that sun setting above them! When I put that on Facebook, most of my friends still thought it was an awesome picture, but I keep hoping to capture an uncluttered sunset soon, while we still have a bit of late-evening daylight. It's fun to observe those works-in-progress in your community, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteHi Nellie....Oh, so good for you that a new Costco is opening! The closest one to where I live is about an hour away.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visits and comments to my blog. Always happy when you stop by. Susan

Happy Harvest Home,

Seems like a lot of building going on around your community. Maybe they hope to complete before winter sets in.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your comments. We have finished with winter now! (I hope). Today's weather was glorious and I spent quite a lot of time in the garden:)
Enjoy all that Autumn has to offer in your neck of the woods.

Nellie, I like to see progress in some ways and not so much in others. I love our small town and would love to have it stay that way...but others seem concerned about lining their pockets. It should not ruin our towns though. I love being in town when it's quiet and not many people out ...it gives me a chance to walk around and take photos.Enjoy your weekend and thank you so much for dropping by.xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteI saw some amazing animal sculptures on Thursday, but we couldn't pull over to take pictures. I need to do a google search to see if I can find a picture. I kept thinking they would be a perfect blog post.
ReplyDeleteWhen we first moved here, things going up was exciting. Now, I just wonder how they're finding the room for any new construction, but they are!
