Earth Day brings this book to mind.
A children's book from the UMW reading list a few years ago. |
Isn't it a beautiful book? Truly an excellent choice for reading to children to impress upon them the importance of taking care of our earth!
This is another one that comes to mind.
A favorite author. |
There are those who make a point to do something special in observance of Earth Day. What about you? Hopefully we will make some progress planting some flowers.:-)
Thank you for reading. I really appreciate your comments.
"The Tree"... Must get that book. Lovely......
ReplyDeleteAnd what's needed is more 'Earth Day' every day.
Yes, we must be better stewards of the resources God has given us. I sometimes wonder about the use of the word "progress" when forests are being decimated to make room for some commercially extravagant piece of property. Around here, we have seen acres of farmland turned into subdivisions and shopping centers, and yet, we wonder why so much of our food is imported.... sigh...
ReplyDeleteGreat illustrations!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Earth Day. : )
What a beautiful book. Josie's teacher has had lots of special activities planned this month to celebrate the earth.
ReplyDeleteHappy Earth Day, Nellie... We enjoyed being out in nature yesterday --hiking at Fall Creek Falls... Wonderful!!!!
ReplyDeleteToday if our day to visit Dad Adams in Tullahoma ---so that is a different type of LOVE....
I love the earth --and I love my 100 yr. old father-in-law.
Hugs,
Betsy
Thank you. That is a beautiful book and this is an inspiring post.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great book, Nellie. I am always repurposing and reusing things and we were recycling before it was the popular thing to do- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of repurposing and reusing. Waste not, want not!
ReplyDeleteThe Tree looks like a wonderful book! I'll look into getting a copy for my grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteIt is snowing again today so there was not much I could do outside today for Earth Day, but I will be having a few trees planted this weekend if the weather co-operates. We ordered a few junipers, a Blue spruce and a couple of burning bush shrubs for our backyard.
Yes do a book report on that Barbara Kingsolver book. I have wondered about it.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that you read to your grand-children.
