The week-end....

Happy Tuesday!  Is your week going well thus far?

In the previous post, I mentioned the activities of my week-end.  It was once again time for a Conference UMW Executive Committee meeting, and I headed out of town almost two hours away for a series of meetings.  On the way, I took time to stop here:

Oops!  I didn't think the picture would come out so dark!

Anyway, this is a marvelous market on a nice rural road.

This sign tells what is available inside.  I apologize for the bad photography!:-(

Of course, there was no problem finding something to bring home with me.:-)

Pecans, cheese, stick cinnamon, mini-chocolate chips!  Might there be some cooking planned soon?

Oh, yes!  There are plans for these purchases!:-) I failed to include the oil of peppermint in the picture!:-(  There was much more that I could have brought back with me.:-)

We continue to have lovely October days here.  I believe rain has been mentioned in our forecast before the week's end, though, and cooler temperatures afterward.

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  1. Is that an Amish store? I only ask because there are a couple of stores names Yoder's around here and they are Amish-owned. They have some amazing stuff!

  2. Nellie, As I read your post I actually thought the same thing as Optimistic Existentialist...Yoder is certainly Amish in northern Indiana. They have the same kinds of store...homemade and handmade. It's cloudy here right now. xoxo,Susie

  6. Oh, I am sure that you have marvelous plans for those purchases!! I find it very difficult to visit one of those types of stores without buying WAY more than I should, but the items are soooo tasty and (I tell myself) nutritious! Looking forward to a recipe or two before too long.... Have a wonderful day!

  17. We've been having clouds and rain and finally a promise of some cooler weather. I know it won't last, but I'll take it while it's available!

I sense a recipe coming on and I'm sure it will make me hungry. Always does!
