Light at night....

Happy Tuesday!  Was Monday a good day for you?  Hopefully you are not feeling too much stress and are able to enjoy this time leading up to Christmas.\

Last night at 8:00, I was outside and noticed the moonlight!  Why was I outside at 8:00?  Well, I was checking for the mail, and it still had not been delivered!  It was actually 8:15 before it came!  I feel like I should leave dinner in the mailbox!

Anyway, not only was there moonlight, there were other lights that had my attention.

Across the street.

Down the street.

In front of our house.

Over our house to the east.

Isn't that moon beautiful?  It was really bright!  We were lucky to have clear skies as we have had lots of clouds and rain.

There are several pretty night light displays in the area.  Perhaps I will be able to go around to some of them and see if pictures will be suitable for including in the blog.

What about you?  Do you decorate with lights outside your house?

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  1. Good morning! Those are some really beautiful decorations in your neighborhood! I remember, as a child, when we would drive around in different parts of town and admire the beauty that some people would put outside for the enjoyment of others. I also remember that we had a small string of lights that Daddy would hang on the front porch, even though very few people ever saw that side of the house. Now, we have no outdoor plug in our apartment building, so there are no lights on our porch. :-( I have hung some red bows on the rail going up the steps, and there is a silver garland with candy canes that accompanies those bows, so folks can at least see it in the daytime. Have a wonderful day!

  2. Beautiful pictures - especially a good shot of the moon. I love driving around looking at the lights at Christmas. We used to put lights up outside, but now all was manage to get up is our tree in front of the living room window which is a full length window so the tree shows up nicely from the street.

  4. Nellie, We do not use lights outside...but we used to. I know what you mean about the late mail serve...and they want to do away with Saturday mail..We never know when the mail is going to run around here anymore. When the moon shines on the snow it's really bright outside. Enjoy your day. xoxo,Susie

  5. Wow. That's really late mail. We saw the moon last night too. It was gorgeous and full. It's the first time we've had a clear night in ages. Today, the snow storms are back and it's super dark outside at 12noon.

    It was very strange.

  12. Wow that's a late mail delivery!
We have blue rope lights outlining our house and the tree is in front of the picture window all lit up. I'll have to take a picture of it.
