A high school in a nearby town held their first sale day for bedding plants on Saturday morning, so we were up and out early to see what we could find. As you can tell, the plant choices were not limited to vegetables, though that is what prompted most of our interest.
After we left the high school, we then drove to our favorite herb farm for their Spring Fever Day.
Yes, we did come home with some things.
Well, that was only Saturday. On Sunday, there was a church-wide potluck lunch with a dessert contest! I entered Oreo Bon Bons.
Forgot to take the picture at home! |
It is estimated that at least 400 people attended!
This brings us to Monday morning and a new week - Holy Week - as that is how we refer to the week leading up to Easter. Are there some special events going on for you this week?
Thank you for reading. I really appreciate your comments.
Hi Nellie!
ReplyDeleteWell, would you look at all those plants! I bought some plants over the weekend too but like you, they will not be going in the ground quite yet. Freezing temps threatening here too!!!
And those Oreo Bon Bons look awesome!
Thanks for sharing, Nellie. Fingers crossed it doesn't get oo cold:)
I love to see the garden center, I can't wait, its snowing here Right now,
ReplyDeletethat looks like a great event, so many deserts!!!
Those plants all look so healthy, and I'm sure you will have great success with them, whenever you are able to put them out! This crazy weather has to get over itself soon, and we will be wishing for some cooler temps in a few weeks. Nothing special at our church this week, just the regular prayer meetings on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, along with AWANAs, as we continue to reach out into the community and teach our young people about the Lord. Have a Marvelous Monday, Sister!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe this weather. Our yard finally is 'showing off' ---and then THIS happens. Cumberland County is under a freeze watch... Gosh--I hope we have no damage....
ReplyDeleteLooks like you two had a great weekend... Hope people didn't buy any of those beauties and plant them already.... We HAVE to get through tonight and tomorrow.....
And to think.... We just THOUGHT that Spring was here to stay... ha
Hugs,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteNellie, I thought every thing in the green house looked so healthy and nice. I also loved those pretty bon-bons. Yummy. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteIt is dark and gloomy here, with a cold front coming. Not nearly as cold as you're expecting, thank goodness!
ReplyDeleteNice plants and desserts. I think I may have even spotted some marigolds perhaps?
It looks like my kind of weekend. No, I can't believe more freezing temps.
ReplyDeleteThe Long Winter I think, don't you?
Did you win with your bon bons?
I just loving going to those kinds of sales. Every thing just looks wonderful.
Have a great Monday.
You are more advanced than we are. I visited our local plant nursery and they had so much plants for Easter and all kind of decorations but they have just started their bedding plants as out frost freed date is later.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holly Week
Hugs
JB
