While in Louisville....

Happy Tuesday to you!  Have you been spared the storms that are passing through several areas during last night?

The trip to attend United Methodist Women Assembly had been planned for a number of months.  Our Conference was able to obtain housing in the Galt House, a very nice hotel.  I attempted to take a couple of pictures that might show some of the exterior.

A covered walkway connecting two sections of the hotel.

We were in the building that was on the eastern end of the walkway.

This was not the only covered walkway.  There was another that allowed us to walk all the way to the Convention Center where we were meeting without ever going outside!

This is the center where we met.

This interesting horse was inside the center.

Of course, I was in Louisville on my birthday.  We had lunch at a place called Hillbilly Tea, and my birthday cake was a serving of bread pudding!

I split it three ways!

There is much more that is meaningful about the week-end.  This will continue to be part of my blog during this week.  I hope you will visit again.

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  1. Good morning! We had some lightning and thunder during the wee hours of the morning, but all is well, and I'm enjoying the cool breeze that is with us this morning, along with a little light rain.

Your hotel looks fabulous, and I LOVE the fact that you didn't have to get out into the weather and traffic to get to the venue for Assembly! Now, that bread pudding....split THREE ways? I know Munchomom was there with you, but was there someone else that I am not aware of? Anyway, I hope you'll have a lovely day today, even though we're supposed to get more rain. Love you, Sister!

  2. late happy birthday nellie! mine was on the 23rd! bev lived in louisville! it is rainy here but no bad storms yet! can't wait to see more.

  3. Nellie, I think your birthday treat was very good from the way it looks. You pictures are very good. Hope you are safe and stay that way. xoxo,Susie

  4. What a nice treat for your birthday. Happy belated Birthday Nellie.
    I love those walkways.

  5. Great photos of Louisville! I have driven through there many times on my way to WV.

Happy belated birthday! I like your choice of birthday cake!

  6. That bread pudding looks delicious. I haven't had that for quite a while but I love it.

We are having lots of wind and rain here today.

  7. What a great looking facility to have your meeting at, Nellie. It is a building that worked well for your group, it seems.

Happy Happy Birthday-even if you did celebrate with bread pudding- xo Diana

  8. What a pretty place. One of those places I want to visit someday.
    Happy Belated birthday!
I hope your weather hasn't been to bad.

  9. Happy belated birthday, Nellie!
The pictures are very interesting. I've never been in Louisville.

  10. Nellie, Did you walk to Beecher Terrace on Saturday. I did and I was so surprised to see Frontline on Tuesday night was "Prison State", about Beecher Terrace . The program was good and was certainly interesting since I had been to the area. Children growing up in such areas have 2 strikes against them, which is sad.
