What was in bloom?

Here we are at Saturday morning!  The week-end is ahead of us, and I hope you have some good plans in store for yours!

I first need to mention that I am not an expert on identifying flowers.  Therefore, the pictures that follow will not be labeled.  They are just pictures that were taken on our recent trip to Williamsburg.

I do know these are daffodils.:-)

Can you tell that there are tiny flowers in this area?

The grounds behind the Governor's Palace.

Williamsburg is on the eastern coast of Virginia, not far from the Atlantic Ocean.  Our guide in the Governor's Palace mentioned that in just a few days, there would be a tremendous showing of blooms.  We were just a bit early to catch it all.

Today is a special day for one of my followers.  I send wishes for a Happy Anniversary to Kim way out in California!

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  1. They look like Vincas... groundcover..I love made me smile at daffodils:)

  2. You and I are in the same boat with identifying some of these lovely blossoms, but we can still appreciate their beauty, even if we do not know their names! My friend in Yorktown says that their cherry blossoms are at their peak now, and are quite beautiful. We have much beauty here in our own back yards, too, with all the dogwoods, azaleas, redbuds, and other seasonal blooms, so we really have no need to feel left out in that department! Have a glorious day, Sister!

  3. Thank you so much Nellie.
I love those flowers and I bet when they are in bloom it is going to be something to see.
I hope you have a lovely day as well.

  4. It would be nice to have all the flowers we wanted, wouldn't it Nellie?? I think the best thing about visiting historical places are there gardens. Have a wonderful weekend. It's heaven here today...maybe a bit too much wind but the temps are good and the sky is blue. :):) xoxo,Susie

  5. It's so nice seeing Spring flowers blooming. I'm hoping that some of my tulips and daffodils have survived a third winter. It's will be time to replant new bulbs in the Fall..Have a nice weekend and stay safe,

  6. I can only name a few things myself and find it amazing that some bloggers know what absolutely everything is.

Hope you have a blessed weekend, Nellie.

  7. Hi Nellie , I only know a few flowers by name , but that don't stop us from enjoying the beauty . I enjoy adding flowers to my rose garden ( I should say my flower garden) ;-D . Thanks so much for sharing :)

  8. Gorgeous flowers and gardens, Nellie. I love green growing things and don't know much about gardening myself!
Happy Anniversary to your California friend, Kim! xo Diana

  9. I can't wait to start enjoying green things again. I'm terrible at identify plants. I just enjoy the blooms and letting my husband be the plant expert. Happy Spring!
