Preparations....

How is your week progressing?  Are you taking time to enjoy the beauty of this season?  It has always been over far too quickly to suit me!  That is why, on the day after Thanksgiving, the china cabinet gets a "new look."

The china pattern, now discontinued, is Christmas Magic by Vista Allegre.  There are six different motifs on the china.  These pictures show two of them.  The lighting just doesn't allow better pictures.  I am sorry.:-(  I also have done some partial table-setting.

The crystal pattern, also discontinued, is Glamour Green Mist by Fostoria.

The Nativity set is displayed in time for the first Sunday in Advent.

This is a set that was done by the same person who did the large lidded pumpkin that I shared on the blog a couple of months ago.  It is my favorite of all the Christmas "decorations" we have!  After all, it tells the story of why we are celebrating during this season!

Still working on that "to do" list here!  There is time, however, for tea every afternoon!  It really does help me to take time to step back, take a deep breath, and relax a bit - even when things are most hectic!

The music of this season is my favorite, and it is time for the women's chorus to perform again today! Our program is about 45 minutes long and includes some sing-alongs!  I wish you could be here to hear us!

What is your favorite Christmas song?

Thank you for reading.  I appreciate your comments.

  2. I'd love to hear your group sing, Nellie. I have so many favorite Christmas songs, Silent Night is high up on the list. But I also like Winter Wonderland and all the rest. xo

  3. Well, I am blessed to have heard your group several times, but I'm afraid I won't get to hear you this time around. :-( I'm sure those who do hear you will enjoy the experience, though, as there's such a great blend of voices in the group! As for my favorite, there are far too many. One of them, though, would have to be "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day." I just love the harmony of the music, and the message is so clear about the precious Babe who was sent to us on that night so long ago. Your home always looks lovely, and I think you are well on your way to a joyful Season!!

  4. Hi Nellie, Gorgeous Nativity. It's hard to choose a favorite Christmas Song --so I guess I'll just go with my all-time favorite work, The Messiah.

We are enjoying the beach in beautiful Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. I will think of you today at 12 minutes and 12 seconds after 12 noon on 12/12/12/.... Unbelievable.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  5. My preparations haven't even started! I admire people that have the spirit and energy to reach for the gusto of the season. Wish I had a little.

  7. Enjoyed seeing your table. I really like Christmas music and cry every time I hear "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," especially the line, "through the years we all will be together." Would that were so!

  8. Ohhhh, Nellie. If I were closer, I'd love to hear the chorus.

Your table setting and china in the cabinet look great.

Thanks for all your faithful visits and comments to my blog, too!

    Have a wonderful Wednesday. Susan

  9. Oh your Christmas china is lovely. So, so cute.

Even if there isn't quite enough light, please do keep sharing your pics with us. I love a peek into my Blogging Friend's surroundings. Which you know. :-)

I guess I don't have one favorite song. Always liked "We Three Kings" and "Silver Bells" and...... See, I can't pick just one. :-)
