The week-end....

How was your week-end?  Are you ready for another week?

The week-end for me was rather busy.  I attended a Conference UMW Sisters in Service retreat, the first conference-wide event for this calendar year.

Banner for our theme.

This banner illustrates our UMW theme for the next two years.  Designs were submitted by several women, and this is the one that was selected.

There were 100 UMW members who attended, bringing non-perishable food to contribute to the local food pantry of the town where we were meeting, about an hour away from here.

Worship center.

There were three worship sessions that were uplifting and inspirational.

This day will be a busy one here as I am preparing lunch for the adult day care center at my church for Tuesday.  I am also going to be giving a program for a Circle meeting, not mine, in the middle of the day.

It has been really cold here, with snow flurries/snow showers off and on and no accumulation.  I hope you are staying warm and safe where you are.

Thank you for reading.  I appreciate your comments.

  1. Hi Nellie, It did not get out of the 20's all weekend. Brrrrrr... We had snow also--with some accumulation. Hopefully this week will be warmer. At least, I see the sunshine this morning. YEAH.

Looks like you had a wonderful retreat. I used to enjoy those retreats (conference and district ones).. Love the theme and logo...

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  2. Great photos, to take us along with you, to your meeting.

Collecting non-perishable foods! Wonderful project. Can always be used by the local helpers of those in need.

Aren't we lucky? To be the ones giving. Rather than the ones, in need. Yes we are. And it helps to remember this... Me'thinks... :-)

    Hugs...

  7. Hi Nellie....
Still cold here, too. More snow predicted. This is the time of winter that I want to say, "Enough already."

Thanks for all your sweet visits and comments to my blog. Love them. Susan
