Happy Saturday to you! Are you glad to have a week-end?
Recently, The Husband and I took a day trip to a small town not too far away. I am sharing a few pictures today of that trip.

I like the view of the storefronts. |
|
This is in the middle of town. |
|
Another view showing another monument honoring area veterans. |
|
The gazebo is located along Main Street. |
|
There was another urn just like this one on the side to the right. |
|
This sign hangs on the gazebo. |

It was a nice day with no showers, so that made the trip more pleasant. We enjoyed browsing in antique stores, although nothing came home from one of them.
For those of you who live in larger cities, do you enjoy trips to smaller towns nearby? This is something we have always enjoyed doing.
Thank you for reading. I really appreciate your comments.
What a cute little town! I'm happy to hear you had such a nice day there! :) I prefer the smaller towns much more than the bigger cities. I like that they're quieter, I love looking through those little stores and the people tend to be less stressed and friendlier :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I live in a small community, but it's not quaint like this town is. I do enjoy seeing places where the older buildings have been respected and cared for, and I always love the feeling of patriotism that seems to thrive in such towns. Your photos are lovely. Have a super Saturday, Sister!
ReplyDeleteI love small town too and it looks that there a lot of open space which is nice. Glad you had a great visit.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend.
Hugs,
JB
I miss living in a small town where everyone was known by their first name and life was simpler.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Nellie!
Nellie, Ted and I used to go to the junk shops together...seems we have not time for that any more. His little job is interfering with our retirement life. Bummer. I like the gazebo right in town....makes me think of something they would call a bandstand years ago...Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteI love small cities and their downtowns. There is so much history there.
ReplyDeleteWe enjoy visiting little towns like that too. Very enjoyable. This looks like a nice one.
ReplyDeleteOH! Di you go "there"? Were they having their big antique day today? I miss everything. xo
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a great time to me. I LOVE small towns and usually try to find the historical district before I do anything else.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful day- xo Diana
