Flowers - and some fruit!

It does seem as though summer is here with our high temperatures reaching the mid-eighties each day.  However, there are a few springtime flowers that I will share with you today.

We returned home from our week-end away to find the peonies had burst into bloom!

Also, there is a good showing of new growth on the Knockout Roses.

Even some lovely blooms here....

...and here!
There are buttercups in the yard...

Pretty dainty flowers.

...and the blueberries are looking promising.

They are growing!

This is strawberry season, though.

This was a surprise!

Our first harvest!  Yum!

Those strawberries were certainly good on a spinach salad!:-)

I hope your week is going well.  Have a terrific Tuesday!

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  1. Oh, how lovely your yard is looking, and what a neat surprise with your very own strawberries! I really like those knockout roses, too....there are several folks around here who have them, and they are really showing their true colors these days. When we were children, it seems that our roses were always very sturdy and grew without any real care, other than making sure they were kept moist during the dry season. I don't know why so many of our cultivated roses have difficulty growing these days, but I surely do miss those we grew up with! I'm sure you remember the pink rambling rose bush...HUGE, with no effort! Have a terrific Tuesday, Sister! :-)

  10. Strawberries already? Wow! Eating them with spinach I have never heard of this, but I could see this would be a nice marriage. In France I had them with red wine and cream. Delicious.

  12. So much more ahead than us where you live and such nice surprises...
I love that you have berries already, roses peonies but you can keep the buttercups. I know they are pretty bus so invasive. I never had buttercups until the big flood and now I have to pull them out of my flowerbeds.

When I was young we would hold a butter cup under our friend's chin to see if the color yellow reflected on their skin and if so, we would say "You love butter".
    Hugs,
    JB
