A January Sunday....

Fog in January with our patch of greens in the foreground.

The fog down our street.

We have had several foggy mornings this month, and these pictures were taken last week.  This morning we had heavy frost and a temperature of 26 degrees!  Even so, there are daffodils in bloom in some areas around town!  Many people are concerned about a late frost that would damage the growth that is taking place on fruit trees at this point.  It has been a strange winter.

We were happy to have our oldest daughter with us this morning when we went to church.  Today was Youth Sunday, and it was inspirational to hear the youth speak of how their faith has been strengthened by their participation in the various activities of our church.  We believe the church will be in good hands in the future.

Thank you for reading.  I appreciate your comments.

  1. Of course, you know that we have been told that, if we don't like the weather, we should just stick around, because it's bound to change! I'm sure you also recall the "blizzard of '93," which occurred in March of that year! We just never know what's going to happen with all of our mountains and valleys, so we have to be ready for whatever may come! :-)

  2. It certainly has been the oddest winter I can remember. As you saw on the blog, we finally experienced lots of heavy snow over the weekend, but a warm-up the rest of the week is predicted.

    Have a wonderful week ahead!

  3. This has been a weird winter here, too. Today we are supposed to get up in the mid 30's. We are usually much colder here. We didn't get 1/8 the snow we usually get either so I don't know what will happen with the farmers in the Spring.

It is nice to have a good home church, isn't it? xoDiana

  4. It is very pretty where you live. Lots of trees. We have had fog too but not the freezing temps. I like how big your back yard looks. It looks like a very nice place to live.
I am glad you had a nice time with your daughter at church.
I hope you have a lovely week Nellie.

  5. Oh Nellie...I know what a different winter we've had this year! Today, our average high is 18 degrees , but our actual high was 65! (I'm not complaining...lol)

Bless those young folks in your church!

    Blessings,
    Gert
