Good Saturday morning to you! The holiday season is winding down, with local schools reopening next week. For those of you who are employed, you may have already rejoined those working after some time off.
It was a busy time around here. After performing three times the week before Christmas, there was a chorus party on Friday night of that same week! On Sunday, we journeyed to a halfway spot for dinner to celebrate the birthdays of Munchomom and Country Girl. Monday - Christmas Eve - we welcomed my sister for a visit. Then, City Girl came later that day.
This year, we attended not only one, but two, Christmas Eve services. The Country Couple, having to work during the day, were only able to attend an evening service, and they came into town for an 11:00 service! That was the first time I had attended a late service. They had to work on Christmas Day as well, so they returned home afterward.
The day after Christmas, Munchomom, Machoman, and the Munchkins came for a visit. The Country Couple came in our direction, and everyone actually was able to spend the night. We had nine for breakfast on Thursday morning! Great fun!! The Country Couple had to leave in time to report for work that day.
Munchomom and family left on Friday, as did City Girl. It is always sad to see them go.
Sadly, there were a couple of memorial services to attend during this time, one for which the chorus sang. That meant a special rehearsal during the week for the service of the husband of one of our members.
Also, there has also been a lunchtime planning meeting for Circle, so the brief break in outside obligations is over, and the calendar is filling up once more.
I will be happy to have a chance to play bridge this upcoming week! I believe I am experiencing a bit of "bridge withdrawal.":-)
I hope each of you will enjoy a good week-end!
Thank you for reading. I appreciate your comments.

ReplyDeleteA busy time for you all Nellie. It is wonderful to be with family and friends at Christmas time too. Sad that one of your members lost her husband.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful Christmas season! Much happiness to you as well in your busy new year!
ReplyDeleteYes, our "happy times" come to a close much too quickly, but you never have any trouble filling up your schedule with fun and useful endeavors! I did enjoy that short visit on the Monday before Christmas, and we also had a quiet Christmas Day. Your children have mastered the art of staying busy, just as you have done! Hope you're having a lovely day today! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou've had quite the busy schedule! I'd be worn to a bloody nub.
ReplyDeleteSuch busy days, filled to the brim with faith, food, family and friends...sounds like yours were brimming over with all :)
