Another year is here! This is the first day of 2013. Do you have exciting plans for your day? We will enjoy the traditional black-eyed peas with a skillet of cornbread. It is probably going to be a good day to continue that "catching up" that seems to always be in the plans.
I want to take time to thank all of you who have begun to follow this little blog. I have really enjoyed "meeting" each one of you. I send along wishes to you for a Happy New Year filled with peace and joy!
Stay safe!
Thank you for reading. I really appreciate your comments.
Nellie, I am telling you, I would lose so much weight, if I had to eat black-eyed peas. My sister Jeanie loves them, but I just can't eat them. Hope they bring good fortune.xoxo,Susie

ReplyDeleteHaving our usual lazy day here, and enjoying every moment! Rain seems to be stopping for a while, so it could be a pretty good day eventually. Just one can of black-eyed peas here, as the hubby will not eat them, and I have some wonderful turnips and brussels sprouts that the hubby also will not eat! I may just let him starve today.... :-) Hope 2013 will be a year of great joy and blessings for all!
ReplyDeleteMom used to fix black eyed peas. I don't think I ever have. I love corn bread though. :-)
ReplyDeleteJust a regular day around the house here. I've been working clearing out my soon to be office.
ReplyDeleteA very Happy New Year to you and your family.
Hi Nellie! Happy New Year to you!
ReplyDeleteI went to church to give thanks for all the great blessings of my life; brought food to a person who I know was short on groceries; visited a sister who's a widow and brought her sand for her icy stairs; drove with my hubs while he shoveled out a driveway for a friend returning from an out-of-country trip and now I'm blessedly HOME, making lunch!
Take care and let's hope 2013 is a banner year for all! Susan
Just finished eating my black eyed peas, cabbage, ham and cornbread, now I need a nap.
ReplyDeleteHappy 2013!
HI Nellie, Happy New Year. We too have our black-eyed-peas... I make Hoppin' John --and we love it... It's a casserole with black-eyes, rice, ham, bacon, smoked sausage, onions and spices.. Delicious...
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great day --and hope all of us have good luck and lots of blessings in 2013.
Hugs,
Betsy
We had a quiet day, with one guest for dinner. I roasted a chicken, cooked up some butternut squash and had salad. Homemade cookies for dessert, and Christmas tea. Nice conversation. It was very pleasant.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
