Another new one....

A few weeks ago, another new grocery store opened.

This is the second Publix to open in our area since August.  I haven't been to either one of them yet, which surprises me, since grocery shopping is one of my favorite things to do.:-)  Do you have a Publix in your area?

That gives us quite a list of new options.  Trader Joe's opened last August, just about the same time the first Publix opened.  Costco then opened in early November.  Kroger has opened a new Marketplace store, and Aldi's has a store just across from Kroger.  There has been mention that Whole Foods plans to open a store in our area in the future.  I am wondering just how many grocery stores we really need.:-)

Not much going on here today.  I need to spend some time researching for the blog.:-)

Thank you for reading.  I appreciate your comments.

  1. You are quite blessed to live in the part of town that gets so much attention! Our little community would enjoy having some of those stores, but there probably is enough competition already, with the three super markets we have, plus a few local merchants. Enjoy those places, if you ever get a chance to visit them. Our daughter loves Publix! Have a great day! :-)

  2. I've never heard of this chain and I would LOVE a Trader Joe in our area. I'm jealous.

  3. We don't have a Publix in this area. I like old-fashioned grocery stores :)

  4. I'm not at all interested in Aldi's but I would kill to have a Publix close by and I adore Trader Joes. I wont come to KTown to go there though. Too much gas miney.

  5. I like to have options when I grocery shop. Publix has great BOGO each week. I like ALDI for their low prices.

  6. Are you in an area, which has experienced a large expansion? Or is thought to be going to do so?

Sounds like all these grocery sellers, feel they want to be in on a "Boom" of some kind...

    Interesting...

  7. Trader Joe's I consider a "specialty" store, for their unique products, which are fairly health conscious when you read their ingredients. I love the store. Costco is a "once every few months" place for me, no need for the bulk shopping and no storage. No Publix or Krogers up here in NYC. I adore Wegman's though. Have to go to NJ for that. Aldi's I am going to check out but a friend who grocery shops all the time all over is not impressed with them, said they have brand names he never heard of. Whole Foods is great, but super expensive at least the ones up here. Can't afford it. But I like variety, doesn't hurt to have a nice selection and find the one that you like the best. If it wasn't supermarkets, it could be strip clubs or paint ball places ugh!! xo

  8. Knoxville just keeps on growing and growing... Guess more and more people are moving there --which would determine the need for more stores....

We had Publix when I lived both in Florida and Texas. It is a nice store --but more pricey than some. HOWEVER, if you are looking for specific things, they may have it!!!!

Have fun visiting all of the new stores.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  9. Don't have them around here in MD but I've been in one in FL when my son lived there years ago.

  10. No Publix here but I really enjoy shopping there on vacation. There is a Trader Joe about a mile away, but the line is generally out the door. I do stop at Whole Foods, but usually just shop at the grocery nearest to my house.

  11. Nope- We are too far North for Publix. I used to like their stores when I lived in FL though. I do love Trader Joe's but we don't have one of those either. xo Diana

  12. You are very lucky! No Publix stores here in my community -- we have Safeway, King Soopers and Albertsons nearby and a Whole Food a Sprouts Organic. They are all new to me :)

I LOVE Costco -- they have a good return policy on most items and I trust their brand goods.
