Just spotted....

Some of you have mentioned having daffodils blooming for awhile already.  Well, on Monday afternoon, this is what I discovered here.

Mini-daffodil!

Peeking through the ground.

Hydrangea buds.

Dutch Iris are waking up!

Last year, I had purchased some mini-daffodils (in bloom) to use as part of an altar arrangement for our District UMW Day Apart.  Once the event was over, I transplanted the bulbs into our yard.  It was a real surprise to see that they are actually blooming again!

The hydrangea bush is full of buds!  That is one of my favorites!  They are really pretty when they bloom.

I hope you are able to see the green that indicates the Dutch Iris are coming up, too!

We have colder temperatures coming, with a chance of snow flurries in the forecast.  Hopefully these first "signs of spring" around here will be able to withstand the colder weather.

Thank you for reading.  I appreciate your comments.

  1. Lovely! It's always so exciting to watch everything come back. :) I can't wait to have a garden again. There is a peace and magic in it that I never found in the same way in anything else. ♥

  2. It a magical time of year when the earth awakens and the colors emerges from the dormant soil. Here,it's still very much winter and it will be a while before we see some color. Enjoy.

  6. Lovely to see some spring colors. None here yet, but I did notice that the grass is starting to turn green again in places. : )

  7. Well, we actually did have some rather large snowflakes up here (about 30 miles from you, toward the mountains), but it had stopped by the time we had to leave around 9 a.m., and we had sunshine for most of our journeys out and about. That wind was awfully cold, though, and I hope all the buds that are out all over the place won't get their little noses pinched!

  8. I am jealous. We have nothing hopefully soon. It's either snow and ice and now mud. Great to see some spring time. Anna

  10. Isn't it awesome to see those daffodils pop up for the first time in the Spring? I always get so excited. Course, we could have snow the next day here in Oklahoma.
