Hidden Treasures....

This was the theme of the Emory and Henry College Alumni event held last week at Emory and Henry College.

The name plate for our room assignment.

The Emory and Henry seal flag on the lamppost.

Welcomed by the ducks....

....who are right at home in the duck pond!

And welcomed by this banner indicating our 20-year celebration this year!

So, The Husband and I were among the 60 plus who attended this event.  We were housed in Hickory, the new dormitory that is the first of its kind in the nation.  Information about this is in one of the entries for the last of March.

Everyone knows that the traditional gift for a 20th anniversary is china.  However, the budget certainly didn't have an allotment for a gift of china to each of us, so we were treated to a Chinese buffet for dinner, complete with:

Fortune cookies and chopsticks!

Our Fearless Leader (known hereafter as FL) along with the planning committee, had many other treats in store for us!  I will be taking you on a day by day account of what we did.

We have a lovely cool morning here today.  It is really appreciated as this is, after all, the first week of August!  We had no rain while we were away, though there is definitely rain in the forecast for tomorrow and the rest of the week!

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  2. That is such a lovely campus at your Alma Mater! I think it's wonderful that you have stayed in touch with so many of your former classmates, and that you always go back for Homecoming festivities. This MTAV experience sounds like a great time to get away, with most of the planning done for you. I'll look forward to hearing more about your week! Have a Marvelous Monday! :-)
