"Super" news....

Happy Tuesday to you!  I hope this day will be a good one for you.  Many of you are facing another siege of winter.  Hopefully you will all be able to be safe and warm.

The Super Bowl is being widely discussed after the final playoff games on Sunday.  Around here, this is big news.

Peyton Manning!

Peyton Manning has been a favorite in this area since his days of playing at UT.  He has returned through the years to watch games and to support charity events, among other things.  It is no surprise that many people in this area will be supporting the Broncos on February 2!

I'm sure you have a favorite.   Would you like to share that information in your comment?  Do you expect to host a Super Bowl party?  Will you be a guest with someone else hosting?  What kind of food is usually served?  Or - do you even care one way or the other?:-)

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  1. Well, you know that I will always root for Peyton Manning, whatever team he represents! He is a class act, and his entire family has managed to escape the scandals that so often plague the famous. We will not have a party, but I find the Super Bowl a good excuse to make some chili/cheese dip and a pan of brownies! :-) Have a terrific Tuesday!

  2. There will be no Super Bowl hoopla here. Football is something I have never been interested in. And I don't understand the game. Maybe I need to buy "football for dummies" book? LOL I see men in tight pants who jump n whoever gets the ball. Hahaha
But I do know it is a huge deal for lots of people so ENJOY!

  3. No party and no interest here either and I'm not a fan of any sport really. I just don't like competition and the politic of sports. They get paid exuberant amounts and it turns me off.
I love watching the Super Bowl parade however.

    Enjoy the excitement.
    Hugs,
    JB

  5. I have to admit that I don't watch football. I do however admire the outfits the players wear. :-)

  6. i LIVE for football so i am very disappointed we did not make the playoffs this year. i love peyton manning but i also sort of wish seattle could win one. plus, they have that deaf player on their team and i would love to see him win a superbowl. though i wish we were playing, not being in the superbowl sure takes the pressure off!!!

  9. Peytan Manning is an excellent football player. We'll be rooting for his team since our team isn't participating. I'm always torn on these things because I have many twitter and blogger friends who live in the area of both teams. But this year, it will be Peytan Manning who will win my cheers!

  10. Hi Nellie- Well, being born and bred in the city of Seattle you can only imagine who I'm rooting for. . . and have been all my days! It is so exciting to have another chance at the Superbowl and especially to have a QB who I respect so much on and off the field. It's gonna be a good game for sure, and we'll be heading over to a friend's house to eat artichoke dip and join them in the frenzy! :)

PS I was not a football fan until 8 years ago when my husband actually sat through two games in a row and explained everything to me PATIENTLY. His patience paid off big time because ever since I have loved the game as much as he does. When you can't beat 'em, join 'em- and you may find you were missing out all along! :)

Two inches of snow here --and SO pretty. BUT--going down to about 5 degrees tonight... Gads.

  15. I'm a NY Giant fan and since Eli is not playing I'm rooting for Peyton. If the Giants were playing -- here's to next year -- I'd be more engaged, but I will quietly root on Denver.
