Yikes!

An empty cake plate!

Well, I certainly let Monday slip up on me!  Did you know that it was National Chocolate Cake Day?  A local TV station featured four different chocolate cakes on their mid-day program!  I will now have to play "catch-up" and work on getting this cake plate covered with a chocolate cake!

Can you believe the weather forecast for the southern coastal areas?  We heard that New Orleans has closed down for today because of ice!  And - the wind chills for some areas are unbelievable!

I hope those of you in the path of this most recent wave of winter weather will be safe and warm!

Now - a chocolate cake recipe to anticipate!  Yum!

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  2. I love that cake plate and it definitely needs a chocolate cake to sit on it.

As for the weather, me, I am always glad to share the cold, ice and snow with the southern states. :-)

  7. Hi, As much as I LOVE to eat, chocolate cakes or cookies are NOT my fav's... I'd choose most any cake over chocolate... Crazy, aren't I? haha

    Stay WARM today... Brrrrrr.

  8. Get busy Nellie and fill that cake plate. I can't stand to think of it empty . Make it double chocolate.

The wind is howling on the river in front of our house and chocolate cake sounds might nice.

    Hugs,
    JB

  9. You bake that chocolate cake and I'll sit here and freeze. Brrrr, it's cold! Schools are closed around here again this week, but so far it hasn't been quite as bad as they were predicting... and I'm totally okay with that!

  17. If I only had the recipe, I could help you fill that cake with one of the yummy treats we have enjoyed on our cruise! It's called Warm Chocolate Melting Cake, and it's like a thin layer of chocolate cake spread and baked over a thick, luscious pudding, served warm with vanilla ice cream. One word---SINFUL!!!! :-)
