For consideration....

One of our favorite programs to watch when our children were small was Mister  Rogers Neighborhood.  A good friend gave me his book, "The World According to Mister Rogers," for Christmas several years ago.  A quote for your consideration today comes from this book.

"Some days, doing 'the best we can' may still fall short of what we would like to be able to do, but life isn't perfect - on any front - and doing what we can with what we have is the most we should expect of ourselves or anyone else."

May you find happiness in this day!

Thank you for reading.  I appreciate your comments.

  1. Excellent advice, from a dearly remembered man.

We usually tend to be too hard on ourselves... And it's wise to cut ourselves some slack.

Perfection just isn't possible. And what's so terrible about that?

If/when we *are perfect,* we are *done.* I personally don't want to be *done,* yet. :-)

Hey, even 'Mary Poppins' was just "practically perfect"!! :-)

  2. Nellie dear,

My friend knew Mr. Rogers and said of him, "he was the REAL thing."

My grandson Luke is now at 4 pounds. He is learning to breathe and swallow. We still don't know how he will mature, but we pray for a good outcome.

Thank you so much for asking.

    Love,

    S

  3. Wow, that is so true. I think I need to hang on to that one. It's quite freeing, actually, for you don't have to keep on living under pressure to do or be like....somebody else's expectations! Joan

  6. Absolutely! Today is my relaxing day. Have some things I'd like to do, but mostly want to rest, read the Sunday paper and visit with blog buddies. Hope your day is relaxing, too!

  7. He was a VERY wise man, who kept lots of children and their parents entertained with good, clean, material. I always felt calmed by his shows, unlike many others that seemed to get the children too excited. Thank you for this reminder of a much softer and gentler time. :-)
