A new week....

....and a giveaway!

The weather forecast for the coming week seems a bit more bearable, so I am celebrating by offering you a chance to win your very own permanent snowflake!  That is, if you haven't already seen more of those this winter than you care to see.:-)

A Martha Stewart snowflake cookie cutter....

....complete with a recipe on the back!

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post.  Just tell me if you have had enough snow this winter.  You will have until Thursday, January 16 at 8:00 EST to enter.  The winner will be announced on the Friday, January 17 post.

There is always much to anticipate with the beginning of a new week.  Perhaps this week will bring a better showing for Tennessee basketball!  The week-end wasn't very successful for them.:-(

We were happy to see some warmer temperatures here over the week-end, and although Saturday morning began quite rainy, the day did provide some sun, as did Sunday.  The Husband even had a chance to play some golf!

I hope you will have a good beginning to the week ahead!

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  1. Good morning! That is a really lovely cookie cutter, and I think that I would like to be entered in the drawing, since we really haven't had that much snow yet. Of course, the inch or so that we did have stuck around for several days while the temperatures hovered below freezing, and it reminded me that folks used to say that it was staying around for more. I'm glad that "more" didn't happen yet, but we could have some later on, before spring really does arrive. Have a good day, even though we might not see much sunshine till later in the week.

  2. Good morning Nellie... oooh, yes, I have had MORE than enough snow and it is snowing right now!... no wonder our State's slogan here in Utah is "the greatest snow on earth"... but enough is enough!... my thoughts are totally of the Spring that is to come... wishing you a beautiful new week ahead, xoxo Julie Marie

  6. (Not entering) The only kind of snowflake I'd want to see would be in the shape of a cookie and not the kind that makes driving dangerous. Glad to hear your weather is improving!

  7. I have had enough snow this season to last me a lifetime. I think snow is pretty if you don't have to get out in it. I hope that we don't have anymore...ever!!

  8. Hi Nellie- I would happily take more snow (more being beyond the 1/4" we got before Christmas). I love the winter white world it gives us, but we usually don't get much in our area. We get lots of clouds and wind storms instead.

Glad to hear you got a break from the cold and the sun even came out. :)And sorry to hear your team had a bad weekend...things can always turn around! I'm a football gal and I'm happy to report my team managed to pull out a win on Saturday. Made the Husband, kids and I very happy.

  9. Although I love winter and all our snow, I'd be very happy to send some to anyone who wants the white stuff. We have more than we need in West MI and more is on the way the rest of the week!

  12. No more snow for me, Nellie. And I just bought a snowflake cutter a couple of weeks ago for the girls to use when they are here- so I will let someone else win. That is a fun drawing. Hope your week is a really good one- xo Diana

  14. We have had zip, zilch, zero snow this Winter. Of course, we usually only get snow that actually sticks a couple of times each Winter. Every decade or so we get a full blown snow storm and I stay home for 3 days until it melts. I learned to drive in Upstate NY, so I know how to drive in the snow just fine. When I moved to Oregon I quickly learned that the "snow virgins" native to the Pacific Northwest do not have a clue how to drive in snow. So I stay home whenever it snows & admire the beautiful snow from my windows, watch the local news showing all the car accidents and bake some snowflake cookies - that's my plan if it snows here & I'm stickin to it.
Thank you for holding the drawing for that cute snowflake cookie cutter.

  21. Well if it's going to snow, then I want enough so that we can't go anywhere. Not just enough to make traveling to and from work dangerous.

So I vote yes for more snow!! It is winter:)

    Stay warm!!

Thanks for the opportunity and your friendship!
