Happy Thursday to you! Are you having a good week?
|
Blueberries! | | |
Our blueberry bushes are looking good! We should be enjoying some within a month.
|
Pears. | | |
Perhaps the pears will be edible. These look the nicest of any we have had.
|
Cherries. | | |
The cherry tree is also full! Hopefully there will be enough for us to enjoy - once the birds have their fill.:-)
|
Peaches. | | |
We may even be able to enjoy a taste or two of peaches. There was some cold weather around the time the peaches were blooming, so we were surprised to see there were some on the trees.
No apples at all this time.:-(
We are still having rain just about every day here, so the garden spot is still not worked.:-(
The school year has passed quickly here. Today was the last day for students! Summer vacation has begun for many!
Thank you for reading. I really appreciate your comments.
Nellie, I remember my daughter fight the birds to get enough cherries to make a pie for her husband. I know that our neighbors, when we were growing up, would hang tin pie pans in the trees to help scare the birds off. Hope you can have some cherries for your family. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to have a climate that will support those fruit trees. It would be great to be able to go out in the back yard and pick your breakfast.
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope that you'll have enough fruit to enjoy, besides feeding the birds and other critters! You may remember, several years ago, when I planted some mixed flower seeds in the planter outside our office. They came up very nicely, but quickly became grasshopper food, except for one lonely hollyhock that grew in a corner and stayed beautiful for a long time. Well, I just went out to the local dollar store and bought some lovely "silk" plants, which the grasshoppers left alone. It was funny when our customers would comment on how beautiful those planers were, and I had to show them that the flowers were not real! Enjoy the fruits of your labors, as much as you can! :-)
ReplyDelete*planters, not planers.... :-)
ReplyDeleteOoh, I smell cobbler in the near future :)

The son getting married has two cherry trees and has yet to get any cherries from it due to birds.
ReplyDeleteWe will sneak out to yours..well, maybe after he gets married.
xo
Girl, looks like you are going to be having some major fruits! Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of growing fruits. Somehow, they just Say-Spring, to me. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi There, Having a rough week here. First, I have insect bites all over me itching like crazy... Then, we have had so much rain that the Liquid Fence we use isn't working well. The deer ate a bunch of our rose buds and lily buds this week. Made me cry! Oh Well--tis life!
ReplyDeleteHope you get lots of fruit from your trees this year. Looks promising so far....
Hugs,
Betsy
What fun to have fresh fruit in your own back yard. I'm hoping to take the girls berry picking this summer.
