September....

Rabbit, rabbit!!  August is now in the past, and we have a new month before us!

This day has a special significance in our area.  Appalachian State comes to town as the first opponent for the University of Tennessee's football season!  So - it's football time in Tennessee!!

In honor of the day, it seemed appropriate to bake some Orange Muffins!

Ready for the oven....

....and just baked!

I did omit the golden raisins in the recipe, as a matter of personal preference.

Go, Big Orange!!

Are you a college football fan?

  5. Hello Nellie. Hope you had a delightful summer. It will soon be football season here, too, but, alas, I must admit I don't like football (or any sports, really.) But I'm glad others to. Nice to see your post. Susan

  6. Well, I'm late seeing this today, but those muffins sure do look good, and we now know that our VOLS won that game in OT!!! Very exciting, with a good outcome for our team!! Have a good night's rest, Sister!

  7. Those look delicious. I always omit raisins because they look like dead flies. They also feel squishy in my mouth. It seems the storm is worse than we thought it would be. It's a hurricane with a tornado warning but it will probably be a tropical storm when it passes near us. I filled all the pitchers in the house with water. We went out to buy some non-perishable foods. We have batteries and an emergency radio. It was like preparing for a blizzard when we lived in Maryland. We're as ready as we'll ever be.

    Love,
    Janie

  8. What nice muffins. I don't really like raisins so I add cranberries. I am sort of a cranberry fan.

  11. These look fabulous. I like college football, but I'm a Commodore fan. I went to graduate school at Vanderbilt. Not so much the football school, but I wait for basketball season.
