When the weather is wintry, what is one of your comfort foods? We seem to enjoy chili most when it's chilly, and that ties in with one of my current "missions" - a search for a good bowl of chili!
That led me to try these two on my "search." This week, however, hasn't lent itself to exploring for chili out and about, so it was time to try this one....
A good friend shared this recipe with me....the first time ever for me to make chili in the crock pot, but it won't the last time I make this! It is perfect for these cold days we are having!
We've never developed the habit of needing toppings for chili, though many people enjoy the toppings as much as they do the chili! How do you like your chili?
MMMMMMMMMM chili sounds good. Havent had it in a while. I put sour cream on my chili with grated cheese. hugs, lj
ReplyDeleteI just made a big pot of chili lol,, what a coincidence, I made it in the slow cooker too, we don't put anything on top of ours but my daughter and her family put cheese and sour cream and green onions on it,, I just eat mine with bread and butter or biscuits, plane Jane me..
ReplyDeleteNellie, I love having a pot of chili for cold days. Ted loves cheese in his. I like to make corn muffins to go with chili. Nice change from crackers. I have made it in crock pots too. But I always brown the ground beef before putting in the crock pot. Blessings to you, stay warm and safe. xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteOH- Nothing like chili on a cold wintery day. Hubby likes it with cornbread although he can't eat it like he once did-before his surgery. Hope you have a good weekend, Nellie. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteChili is one of my favorites, Sister, but Hubby is not so fond of it, so I normally just get a certain brand of the canned stuff when I'm in the mood, and it's not bad at all! I do enjoy a bit of grated cheese on mine, but that's all it needs for me to feel as if it's a gourmet meal. HA!! I also like to mix chili with spaghetti or macaroni--just weird, I guess! Stay warm!
