Last Monday…

 …began with this view…

It was definitely a wintry week!  Perfect for some reading…

…this book, the current choice for my book club that meets via Twitter.

Also, it was a good time for a cozy kitchen supper…

…a favorite of years past, Creamed Chicken in Cornbread Ring, along with roasted sweet potatoes.

It has been a great time to explore this book that was a Christmas gift…

True comfort food…meatloaf (inspired by recipe from above book), macaroni and cheese, and steamed broccoli!

A special treat was a Zoom interview with Susan Branch, sponsored by Cary Library in Massachusetts.

How are things where you are?  I wish you happy, healthy days!

Take care, be safe, and stay well!

  1. Oh, Sister! That dinner of meatloaf, mac/cheese, and broccoli is one of my favorites! Your reading material looks interesting, and I'm sure you've enjoyed being part of your Twitter book club. And that creamed chicken in cornbread, well, you can't go wrong with cornbread! Where I am is peaceful most of the time, so I'm content with what I have. Hope today is working out well for you. Love you!

  3. I love that first photo of the coffee cup and the view of the snow. Meatloaf is one of my favorites. Yours looks so delicious, and with macaroni and cheese and broccoli, even better. Your sofa looks comfy and cozy with the pillows and the throw. It's been pretty cold here, and just staying in and keeping warm doing the same things as you. Have a nice week, Nellie.

  4. Your food looks so good on a cold day. We've had freezing temperatures at night and I had to clear the windshield of ice to be able to drive this morning.

    Love,

  6. I can picture you sitting in your beautiful Reserved for Nellie spot on the sofa with your Golden Girls book and your winter mug.
I wish I could come over to your house for dinner. Your food always look so tasty and your food presentation is always professionally done.

    Stay well and safe.

  7. That Golden Girls book sounds like fun. You can have more winter if you want-I will send you mine.
I love Susan Branch and her take on things. Years ago I bought a set of 12 different cards that she put out and then loved them so much I didn't want to send them to anyone. lol
Have a great night- xo Diana
