Hello, friends! This is the day for the “wearin’ o’ the green.” Do you have something green to wear?
Blessings and wishes for good fortune to you!
Have you had a good week? One morning I was actually awake early enough to see this sunrise…
One day we took a trip to a nearby town. Actually, it’s the town where I graduated from high school.
Not to tell my age; however, I was a student there during these traumatic times.
Although we have had temperatures below freezing several nights this week…and more are predicted in the near future…we are enjoying the signs that spring is on the way!
The Husband has mowed the lawn, taking special care not to mow the violets!
For those of you who are college basketball fans, March Madness is underway. There have already been some huge surprises in the outcome of several games. Do you have a favorite?
Have a good weekend!
Shank o' the evenin' to ye, Sister! I'm so glad you were able to visit that museum that holds so much history for those of us who attended that high school. I've become friends with one of those students whose statue stands proudly outside that building, and I can assure she's one of the kindest and most intelligent people you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. In fact, I think you did meet her during one of her infrequent visits to that fair city, but sadly, her health doesn't permit many such trips now. Your yard is always beautiful, and I think this year will be no exception! I'm glad The Husband is careful about his mowing! Love you!
ReplyDeleteHope it was a lovely St. Paddy's day for you, Nellie. I woke this morning and realized I had nothing green to wear. Then I remembered my sparkling green eyes, and I realized I was good to go. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy St Patrick's Day to you Nellie.
ReplyDeleteI had to go and read up about the story of the Clayton 12 Walking into History. How remarkable that you and your sister attended that school during that time in history.
Your husband is very kind to not mow the violets. We still have lots of snow but if feels like spring and I saw some tulips leaves poking out on the south side of the house.
Sorry, my husband and I are not much of sport fans. Always have been too busy with the farm.
Hugs,
Julia
That's nice that you took a drive to your old town. I recently went down the mountain and to the city for some shopping. Makes all the difference in the world when we take a break from it all. How fun that you got to see your old high school. I like all your green lovelies. Hope you had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day, Nelli.

I don't seem to have many articles of clothing that are green. In spite of not wearing green I had a lovely day...the sun shone and the temperature reached 16C... 60F.... warmest day so far.
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patrick's Day a day late! We wore green...and I still had a little leprechaun pin to wear, too. Remember when Hallmark made little pins for each holiday ? They were so cute..and they don't make them any longer. I still have some and enjoy wearing them! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe only green I wore was my bright green hooded when I walked. :)
