....is here! Have you had a long week-end since the Fourth was on Thursday? Some people gave themselves an extra long holiday by taking Friday off as well. Their "week-end" will be four days long!:-) When one is retired, I imagine everyday is like a week-end.:-)
As I have mentioned in earlier posts, we have been having lots of rain. Some sunshine is needed for the garden to do its best work, though.
|Green beans are growing!|
The berries are not ripening as quickly as they have in past years. While the rain is good to help things grow, sunshine helps the ripening process.
This is a low-key week-end around here. It is good to have one like that on occasion.:-) It has been a busy week, so having a chance to "regroup" will be a good thing.:-)
Thank you for reading. I really appreciate your comments.
Yes, we are needing more sun!!!!!!! -sigh-ReplyDelete
I'm afraid the local corn will be late in coming, this season. -sigh- :-))))))
Blackberry jam is my father's favorite. I hope lots of sun is in your forecast soon.ReplyDelete
Nellie, At least your garden is nice and weedless.:):) Our forecast for the next 5 days is 40 percent rain. I want a week of 60-70 degree weather, lots of sunshine and little sweet breezes...is that too much to hope for?:):) So far, we have had a wet year. Started off with too much rain in April. Ted and I will be fighting crabgrass.Bummer. xoxo,SusieReplyDelete
After a week or more of rain we are enjoying 2 hot, hot days in a row. I went to the farmers market this morning and got lots of new fresh veggies. Summers here finallyReplyDelete
The same here, too much rain and it's difficult to get the right weather for quality hay. It's been busy here too and Yesterday was a really sunny day with a breeze, hot but so welcome.ReplyDelete
Your berries and tomatoes looks very appetizing.
Wishing you some rest and relaxation while you can.

It is so nice to see your garden. I am glad you have some sunshine.ReplyDelete
I think I got too hot on the 4th so I haven't felt quite right.
I am better today as it will only be 101 today.
I am getting caught up with your posts.
I hope you have enjoyed your company.

Lovely to see your vegies and berries. I'm hoping to prune the roses next week!ReplyDelete
Thank you for your post on good reading for the children. I think Emma (nearly nine) is ready for some of those. She loves reading.
Fab garden my sweet friend. Bet you can't wait to start pickin'.ReplyDelete
We've been having a lot of rain here too, last 2 days though have been really sunny.
Sending sunshine your way Nellie. We finally had some yesterday and today and I'm more than happy to share. We don't want those plants of yours shriveling up from lack of Vitamin D!ReplyDelete
Enjoy your resting and thanks for sharing your garden with us:)
There are so many things that are slow growing this year..due to all the moisture. BUT their still growing! That's the blessing! 😊ReplyDelete
I'm praying for a little ☀sunshine for all of you!
