While it was raining....

Happy Saturday to you!  Do you have some good plans for the day?

While it was raining, of course we were inside looking out.

This is what we saw!

This is a corner of the garden.  We really should consider putting in a swimming pool.:-)

During a break in the rain, I ventured out to walk about.

The Japanese Beetles had found the roses!:-(

The corn is growing, but it isn't "knee-high."

The apple tree is turning yellow.:-(

Red pears will be good!
I send wishes for a good week-end!

Thank you for reading.  I really appreciate your comments.

  1. The rain has truly caused a whole set of other problems, and the bugs seem to be getting healthier at the expense of your lovely roses and some other plants. Hopefully, the damage won't be permanent, and you will still have a great harvest, even if it might be delayed because of the moisture. We've had a couple of nice, sunny days lately, and that should help! Have a wonderful day, Sister!

  3. So much rain. I bet the pears will be wonderful. It is too hot here for apples and pears. They have to grow them up in the mountains.
Your garden though even though muddy looks really pretty. I like how green every thing is. My eyes start getting starved for green when every thing around me is brown. Have a lovely restful weekend.

  4. Sorry about the leaves turning yellow on the apple tree. It could be a number of things causing this. I hope it will do better next year.

The red pears look very healthy.

I hope that you get some sunshine for the garden although it looks pretty green to me. There is still lots of summer left for it to grow.

It was cool here this morning but it's sunny today.

    Have a great weekend,
    JB

  7. I am surprised the beetles haven't eaten your pears...those darn things are nasty. They have almost eaten my roses bushes. I have sprayed sevin on them, may have to do another follow up. Hope you can get rid of yours. xoxo,Susie

  8. I enjoyed your walk around the garden. Despite the pest invasion, plants are looking healthy. Your vegies are looking good.
