Last week-end....

If you keep up with this blog, you are aware that last week-end was a special one for birthdays in our family.  It was also the time for a special United Methodist Women Conference event.

The Husband went with me as we made a trip to Lake Junaluska, NC for this two-day meeting centering on the theme for the next two years - Feed My Lambs.

Our housing was in the newly-renovated Terrace Hotel.

The rooms are very comfortable, and a refrigerator has been added!  Reservations can be made for those who want to visit the area.  I encourage you to consider investigating this option if you have plans to be in this part of North Carolina at any time.

We actually went a day early, and that gave us time to do some exploring in nearby Waynesville, always a favorite place to visit.  Dinner was good here -

There were several menu selections that were appealing.

All the celebrating came home in the form of an extra pound or two, so it has been a concentrated week to send those pounds away!

Before I end this post, I will mention the Kentucky Derby!  Today is the day!  Will you be watching?

  1. Oh, that room makes me just want to go to bed and take a LONG nap!! It sounds as if you and The Husband had a marvelous time, and I wouldn't worry too much about those extra pounds. Knowing you, they'll be gone very quickly! Not sure whether we'll be watching the Derby, since we have company coming, but it should be an exciting race, anyway. Have a great afternoon, Sister!

  2. The room looks nice and comfortable. Why is it so easy to gain weight so fast and so difficult to to loose it. Some walking might do the trick.
    Enjoy your weekend.

  6. I would love to take a trip back to NC. Love Waynesville. My property isn't too terribly far from there! Haven't seen it since a brief visit in 2008.
