Something new....

Just sharing a new arrival in our house -

Not exactly the anniversary (46 years on the 16th) present we might have chosen, but a necessity when the repair bill on the other one was greater than the cost of this replacement!  Smiling while I do the laundry here today!:-)

  1. The big appliances manufactures have pushed out the smaller appliance manufacturers by buying them out and they have the monopoly on the appliance market. They make appliances so flimsy these days just so you have to replace then every 7 years. I was surprised to find this out on line that the life expectancy on my expensive washing machine was only 7 years. This is not right. I talked to a dealer and he said it was true.

I hope your machine last longer than that.

    Hugs,
    JB

  2. There have been such anniversary gifts at our house, too, and we feel blessed to be able to have these things! Car repairs are another item that we have used as a "gift" for a special occasion. Not the way we might like to celebrate, but VERY happy to have something to celebrate!! I'll smile along with you as you do that laundry, Sister! Enjoy your day! :-)

  3. Nellie, That is the perfect gift when you need it . LOL. I am thinking I'll be in the market for one before a year is out. We have repaired and repaired ours. I know most women do not want gifts with electrical cords attached. LOL. I saw your post from yesterday...love the burning bush. My mom always loved hers. I see some yellow leaves in the tulip poplars here....I love fall....but I sure do not want an early winter. Hope you are having some summer fun like drinking lemonade and sitting on the porch. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

  5. We also have done these things for anniversaries. One year the stove, fridge and washer all bit the dust. That was a rough year...

  6. How nice!!! I bet you enjoy it, but oh well, sometimes we just have to have other things for presents. :)

  8. Well, I think it's a very "cleansing" anniversary gift, Nellie. Congratulations. Susan

  9. Hate that it was a necessity, but when you don't have one they definitely are!
