Christmas past....

There are those of you who already know that I am a retired elementary teacher.  Through the years, I was the recipient of many Christmas gifts, always appreciated, of course.  In this post I would like to share some pictures of some of those gifts.

Pictured above is a glass Nativity set, given to me by a student who just may be reading this blog at this point!  It is setting on top of one of a set of four place mats which I received in December 1967.  I have used them every Christmas since then.  While I am not known to be a person who does crafts, I have tried to find the kind of fabric that was used on these, especially since our family continues to increase in number.

This pillow was a gift in 1991, and we have enjoyed it for 20 years!  How time flies!

Once again, the product of the craftiness of a parent, a gift in 1993!

This lovely duck has "bloomed" with poinsettias every Christmas since 1991.

Bringing these things out to decorate the house always brings back many pleasant memories.  Soon it will be time to store them away for another year.  How enjoyable it will be to set them out again!  If you stay around, you just might see them then!

Thank you so much for reading!

  1. I always enjoy seeing the items you have saved over the years! They add such a "homey" touch to the decor of your lovely home, and I'm sure the memories you have make them even more meaningful. It's always a shame to put such items away, but you will still have them around to enjoy again. Thank you for sharing with us!
